^ inf means Setup Information File = use to install software or drivers and BTW autorun.inf is not a trojan. I can't blame you for that. viruses commonly targets autorun.inf and most people misunderstood it as the virus itself. CD,DVD,flash disk and other removable devices contains autorun.inf on its root directory and that autorun.inf file contains instruction on what action to be perform. Inserting an installation disk and then a window automatically pop-ups is also the work of autorun.inf. viruses could be much effective if they use autorun.inf as their host file. MargZ@ why did you titled this topic as "Software Definations" ?? I mean most stated terms are file types and computer terms. I thought the topic would be more on software thing like explanation of the different types of software.
