That's a risky task 
I've tried to get my OS to have a vista type display, but I just ended up with startup errors bcoz it's not compatible to my laptop, so I had to use safety mode and revert back using a previous state 
anyway, I think this site 
www.skinbase.org is a good source for OS stuff like that
