Well, in my opinion it's better just to close those kind of topics and let it stay on their original section. Because most people will browse the appropriate forum section before searching somewhere else if they're looking for something. With an archive section, different topics will be mixed up together so its difficult if you want browse/find a topic, just like in recycle bin.
