MODS: Please move/edit/dump this post if ever you need to. Sorry if it has alread been posted! In this tutorial, I'm basically going to teach you how to change colors of certain things. For example a car. Once you have learned this/the basics/ you can easily apply it on other pictures. It's "the technique" :) YOU WILL HAVE NO TO KNOW HOW TO USE THE PEN TOOL OR POLYGONAL LASSO TOOL  If you don't know how to use it, i sugges you go to this site: http://www.melissaclifton.com/tutorials.html it's pretty simple you'll get it in a giff! Have fun, hope you guys get this! 1) First off, open your photo in PhotoShop. I'll be changing the color of this car: I suggest you use this same pic so you can follow, or get another car or what ever :) 2) Next, you'll have to choose which tool to use. Either the Polygonal Lasso Tool or the Pen Tool. Either way, they're both pretty similar to use. Once again, you'll have to know how to use atleast one of those tools. I'm going to use the Pen Tool. I recomend you use this, too because you can use the pen tool to CROP OUT the parts that don't need color changing.
:exclaim:IMPORTANT: PEN TOOL:exclaim:
* Please select the Paths when you use the pen tool. * But don't forget to put it back to Shape Layers when you don't need the Paths tool, otherwise, when you make Shapes (circle, square, eclipse, custom shape) they'll only appear as paths!

3) Now what you have to do, is select the parts you want to recolor. ONLY those parts (i.e., in the picture, we wouldn't want to change the windows or the wheels, right?) Basically, choose the body of the car: Observe the settings used for the Pen Tool. Do not forget to apply those. Anyway, if you know how to use the Pen Tool, you should know these. 4) Once you've selected the color you're gonna change, right click (still on the Pen Tool) and choose Make Selection... You'll have something like this: 5) When you've selcted that, create a NEW LAYER VIA COPY. (CTRL + J) 6) a. This is one of the ways you can change it, by changing the Hue/Saturation. :arrow:Working with the new layer, press CTRL + U. The Hue/Saturation Window will open up. :arrow:Simply adjust the different bars of the window. Experiment to find your desired color! :exclaim:AS SIMPLE AND BASIC AS THAT:exclaim: b. Via Blend Options. This is waaay easier. In the Layers Menu/List you'll see a drop down list at the upper Left Hand Corner, otherwise known as the blend options. When you've Made a Selection with the pen tool, instead of Creating a New Layer via Copy, Create a new layer. Still with the selection of the shape, Fill it with the new color you want. Working with the layer you've filled, Experiment with different effects in the drop down list! I chose the Linear Light effect which gave me this: And there you have it! As simple as that. FYI: Once you've mastered the technique of using the Pen Tool, you could use it for so many differen things/effects/actions/whatever! Also, when you've mastered coloring, it's not just cars you can color :) Try it on different cars! Try lowering the car or whatever! Try putting decals or even spoilers and stuff. I'mma try to make a tutorial on how to do those... someday. LOL Take care everyone!
