if you're trying to make an overlay, there are parts to it. & i believe the code is incorrect here are some things i want to point out: the background should be in the[b] head tag[/b], what i mean is: <">[b]head tag[/b]: is where the codes are hidden (edit the style of the layout) & will not show in screen. (i.e. fonts, backgrounds, hover link effects, scrollbars, etc.) [b]body tag[/b]: are for tables & such that it will show up in your page. (i.e. javascripts, divs, tweaks, etc.) your background image serves it's role in CSS format, again like this: <">hope this helps
