how to set a wireless password? ive brought a router so me n my family can use the internet at the same time together.. but i need to know how to set a password for my wireless since im living in a h
first , make sure have internet connection in router
connect wire/cable from router to pc
check the connection if enable.
click start
click run
type cmd
type ipconfig << to get the ip add (8 numbers >> example ... 192.168.0.1)
type ping 192.168.0.1
if there is internet connection thru wire connection
type in address bar >>>> 192.168.0.1 click enter ( no http or www )
username : << keep it blank
password : admin (thats the default password)
Then the settings will come out
click " wireless "
edit or configure it (choose 128 bit and WEP or WPA for better protection)
click "save setting"
That is the basic procedure on setting up a wireless network. Some router differ base on the manufacturer instruction. If this didnt help, try to follow the manual or call the costumer service of the product.
