^Well not that really similar because not all Shoujo manga have a specifically type of storyline but with the setup. Look at Paradise Kiss, Ouran, etc.
It's not because you're a guy, you should focus with Shounen manga only. 
I know a lot of men who also read Shoujo manga and they're not gay.
