Even if your OS is original. If it's a Service Pack... Some updates aren't compatible to it.
To avoid automatic updates involving Microsoft Genuine Advantage programs.
Just fix the settings of your Automatic Updates to custom. 
If it is costumed. You can select Updates you want manually...
