it's common to all movies which adapted to novel.....
becoz they want to show a different, not just to copy all things from the book...
they must show they're own creativity.....
if the director or other staff don't like some part of the book they changed it to a more fascinating.....
that's why it's said to be 'adaptation'.... they adapt the movie from the novel with their own style....
