In my suggestions to mods thread, I tried to avoid the word "sympathy". I instead use the word "empathy".
There's a big difference between those two words. 
You see, to be sympathetic would make you more prone to be subjective than being objective.
Moderators are expected to be impartial... in other words, unbiased.
