I have to agree on what other said.. "it depends.."
depending on skills... level... and experience...
you don't need to be programmer all the time you need to increase in level of position.
I want to be an SSE(Senior Software Engineer)

that's why I always keep myself updated on new ones... especially on frameworks that are opensource
