You might need to update your video card driver.
Something like that happened to me before cos I couldn't play Jedi Outcast.
I had to install something from NVidia.
Or you might be missing a patch for it, a little research will help.

If you still can't find the answer.
Uninstall the game and do a fresh clean install.
