Bokura ga Ita is a story of a girl named Nanami ("Nana-chan"), who falls in love with the school's most popular guy, Yano. The anime begins as Nanami starts school and meets Yano for the first time, after hearing about the rumors revolving around Yano. As the story continues, Nanami discovers that Yano's ex-girlfriend had died in a car crash during the summer.
Finding out that Yano still indeed loves his ex-girlfriend (who also happens to have the name Nana) Nanami tries to understand Yano and hopes that he will like her. Yano soon realizes he has become accustomed to Nanami, no matter how hard he tries to keep her away. In the end, they begin dating.
Soon after, Nanami realizes she can not deal with the burden of pretending to not care about Yano loving his ex-girlfriend, and breaks up with him. At the same time, Yano's best friend unexpectedly falls in love with her.
Love, Comedy, Shoujo, Drama and Romance

this is a really nice anime.. i even fall inlove with Yano.. 
i finished all the 26 episodes in two days.. and i already watch the whole episode three times.. because it's really nice..
BE READY FOR THE ENDING..
it's hard to read the manga though.. cuz it's in japanese.. there's no released English version.. good thing my friend helps me..

oh no.. it's not yano's fault.. because [spoiler]his mother got sick.. and he didn't have enough money to contact Nana.. it's nana who didn't kept her promise to Yano.. because she is dating Take.. poor Yano

I didn't like this series.. too much drama.. [spoiler]ending is bittersweet and the manga leaves you hanging off a cliff. I wished that the anime kept on going where the managa ended off�[/spoiler]

i think the story in the manga of bokura ga ita in japan is not yet finished..
the new released volume 12 it ended when
[spoiler]Yano got home and he saw a girl folding clothes and the girl said "welcome home" and then Yano remembered Nana but he said "i'm home". by the way the girl is Yuri Yamamoto, Nana Yamamoto's sister [/spoiler]

one of my favorite scenes in bokura ga ita is when the two were all alone in yano's house and then they did 'it' but yano's parents came and they hurried wearing their clothes
nana said that it was his first time but yano replied that he haven't entered her yet 
but while they were having 'it' nana said that it hurts..

well, I almost didn't sleep just to watch the whole thing,
I always wish the whole story happens to me too!
when I'm in HS
I really love Yano Motoharu even if I know he's just a piece of drawing,
Takeyuchi is sort of cute too,
Nanami Takahashi is nonsense 4 me becoz' I only like d cute guyz
I hate Yuri Yamamoto she is so not in the scene he just want Yano and Nana fight and broke up but they really broke up once,
but the truth is I'm beginning 2 love the whole story
huh,,,, I wish the story is 4ever
and one add on Yano and Nanami ended up being MARRIED
