White Day was first celebrated in 1978 in Japan. It was started by the National Confectionery Industry Association (全国飴菓子工業協同組&#21

White Day was first celebrated in 1978 in Japan. It was started by the National Confectionery Industry Association (全国飴菓子工業協同組合) as an "answer day" to Valentine's Day on the grounds that men should pay back the women who gave them chocolate and other gifts on Valentine's Day. In 1977 a Fukuoka-shi confectionery company, Ishimura Manseido (石村萬盛堂), had marketed marshmallows to men on March 14, calling it Marshmallow Day (マシュマロデー).[3] Soon thereafter, confectionery companies began marketing white chocolate. Now, men give both white and dark chocolate, as well as other edible and non-edible gifts, such as jewelry or objects of sentimental value, or white clothing like lingerie, to women from whom they received chocolate on Valentine's Day one month earlier. If the chocolate given was giri choco, the man as well may not be expressing actual romantic interest, but rather a social obligation. someone already gave me a gift this last valentine and i return it with pie's  thank you mrs.beverly :D for all our beautiful girls in ftalk this gift is for you all :D --> :rose::cake::gift: and today is march 14 its already white day, for all the boyz out there lets give our girls a nice present's :penguin:(itekimasu!!!)

I had a Japanese crush before. My Aunt told me about this White Day thingy. So, I gave him a cake on Valentine's.. and I didn't expect he'll give me a red ribbon cake at White Day. =) Haha. Mind it, he gave me back a cake. Thought it'll "work out", but he had to leave and go back to Japan. Hahahaha. At least, I had my White Day experience. :)
