The manga derives its title from the name of the two main characters, both of whom are called Nana. What sets them apart, however, is the stark difference between their lives. One Nana comes from a small town, following along with her friends and boyfriend, looking for a goal to obtain, while the other Nana's goal is set on making her dream and band, Black Stones, among the best. The two Nanas are brought together in what has become a major success for Ai Yazawa and the shōjo genre. [align=center][b]Plot Synopsis[/b][/align] Nana Osaki is a punk singer who wants to debut with her band as soon as possible to leave her ex-boyfriend, Ren Honjo, behind. Nana was the lead vocalist in their old band with Ren, and they lived together as lovers. When Ren is offered a chance to debut in Tokyo as a replacement member of the popular band Trapnest (T-Nest for short), Nana chooses to cultivate her own band, Black Stones (BlaSt for short) instead. Nana Komatsu, the other Nana, is called Hachi (after Hachikō) as she has weak mental characteristics that resemble a puppy. With a habit of falling in love at first sight, Hachi has always depended on other people to help her. When her friends and then boyfriend leave for Tokyo, she decides to join them a year later after having saved enough money. Nana and Hachi meet in a train by chance, both on their way to Tokyo. After a string of coincidences, they come to live together in an apartment numbered 707. Despite having contrasting characters and ideals, the Nanas like and respect each other. While the Black Stones begin to gain popularity at live gigs, other issues need resolving, especially in the areas of romance. One of the best shoujo anime i've seen. The pace is slow - I like the way it introduces characters, the anime strengthens each characters personality and emotions. I mean even though there were lots of co-stars, you will know each one of them and who they are talkin about. I even remember the extras lol. The characters arent stereotype, like for instance Nana O. is described as cool and a bit mysterious but she jokes around, gets mad and etc like the way real people are. Not to mention - the guys are so hot (pssshhhh) The graphix, hmm.. the style is there, it is distinctive from other animes. (Style is similar to Paradise Kiss) Dubbing - i must say it is great, thte voices fit the characters well. Music - I AM IMPRESS. With Blast and Trapnest' music, you can easily define their respective style. The first opening song is catchy too! I Love it so much. Story: Hmmm, honestly i thought it was just a so-so movie, love stories that are weak and has no lasting impression at all (because of the first episodes) But as i watch the anime, There's more than meets the eye. It's not all about love and stupid things, the story also revolves around careers, friendship, trust . . . All i can say is that this is one hell of a story. It may seem a bit "too much" to some people, but i can relate well with the anime . This can really do happen! [b]Best for mature audience (18 and above)[/b] ---> smoking , highschool dropouts, premarital sex, pregnancy, drugs etc. I doubt if this anime goes public, lots of bed scenes XD If they cut these scenes, it would be a shame because there are important conversations while doing the deed lol. Anyway, i watched it at crunchyroll . . go ahead and splurge weeeeeeeee... see if you like it XD . . i know i did. Kinda left me hangin though,, I want season 2. But it's not bad, in fact it's a masterpiece. There are episodes where i cant help but swear, cosz it was really awesome. I wanna spoil these scenes badly XD so im ending this review now. I hope you people watch it. Great drama story. . Nana will keep you busy while waiting for the next episode of bleach and naruto LOL.
