ya i use gedit on my ubuntu.... its great that its built in unlike the built in windows notepad which sucks badly.... oh and btw i do layouting on Adobe Fireworks because Photoshop is just to heavy on workload for web development...

If you really want to make a website, use Microsoft's Visual Studio 2008. But you have to have some knowledge about the .NET Framework and languages like C#, Visual Basic, and Javascript and database platforms like Sql Server or MySql.
