If blogs were added to the forum would that not slow or bog down the speed? Seems to me that most blogs eat a lot of memory and storage space

True, honestly it will also spoil the purpose of the FS blogs. Besides you have a lot of options to have a blog such as FS blogs, Multiply, Myspace, Hi5, etc... Why do we have to create a blog section here?

It will only eat a lot of bandwidth. Think of it if people will just post randomly just to "update" their blogs. I don't think that it would really eat a lot of space.

This is not a very good idea.
The sole reason of this forum is for Friendster. But I'm not saying that you're mocking that part since you stated that your suggestion (if ever approved) will go under Chit Chat. Now, didn't we all have Friendster accounts where we can make our own blogs? Also, I believe they (Friendster-Wordpress alliance) support commenting system (or whatever you call that) over there.
And the site load/space/bandwidth, please bear with our database. It's not a superhero.
