I have watched about this in Discovery Channel on a segment they call MythBusters...
When you combine mentos and diet cola a reaction will occur..
And have you Watched those videos in youtube...
A man drank diet cola and mentos at the same time and his stomach exploded and he is rushed tot he hospital half dead???
Yeah...not true...if you will really put it in your stomach..

i have an explanation for this one:
softdrinks is an acid beverage / carbonated drink
and a mentos is a base.
try it and u will discover it.
don't use diet coke or anything which is diet because its not anymore a carbonated drink.
what else if you will be putting those stuff together to your stomach.
chemically speaking
acid + base = neutral right? but when added by heat or any compulsive reaction (stomach or high energy something)
what shall happen?
discover it by doing the expirement,

mythbusters on discovery channel tested this myth!!! they actually replicated the myth, they purchased a (i think it was) pig stomach (cause it's closer to that of the human stomach)attach pipes to the stomach to drop the mentos and the soda simultaneously....
well it turns out to be busted. it means it's not true! .gif)
but when you drop mentos on a newly opened soda... it will pop!!
