its a genre by itself for me.
though there is some 'light' punk-rock.
i say that because its some people disagree with their definitions of punk rock and for me... pinoy's rock (that ive mostly heard.. im not as familiar of pinoy music as i was 5 years ago) is definitely not "hardcore" punk rock.
of course... pop.
pop will always be a frontstage in any music industry though i am not a big fan.
