[b]peer-to-peer computing[/b] is a new system of information sharing in which peers(referred as the clients or Individual PC) can directly connect and work w/ each other w/o passing on a central server. It is similar to wifi's ad-hoc networking which does not require access point. example of applications w/ p2p computing: limewire and torrents. when your downloading a file on limewire or torrent client, you are actually getting the files not to the limewire server or whatever server it is but instead you are getting it from other people's computer. another application of p2p computing is on big companies who are handling huge data processing. most of the system analysts I know usually use p2p computing when they are building a complicated IS(Information system). though I never heard a webpage computing. but I assume you are referring to the other data computing which requires a central web server. a good example for this are direct downloads from a web server. file downloaded are from the web server itself and if the server is down, downloading files are not possible (correct me if I'm wrong) Did my information answers your problem?
