i rarely go to the Chat section, but the time i went there just earlier today, I saw some flaming. I've reported those two people w/ screen shots. I think it's really immature, plus we have young members here, it's really innapropriate for them to see such vulgar rantings.

Another thing, should chatbox also be limited in usage by newbies? cause apparently some are being abusive; or maybe just filter those words, if possible. what do you guys think?

I see them also =) This is only my suggestion (if its only possible) chatbox must filter all the bad words. example: [s]fuck[/s] = *censored* [s]bitch[/s] = *censored* and so on... just like in saybox. and also, we must not access 'friendsternewbie' rank to the chatbox, to prevent spamming or flaming ;)

Yes, I've noticed that too. Some members feel free, since moderators couldn't watch every post they make there, and also there is no report button. I've got complains saying, some members are talking disgusting/vulgar/inappropriate. I've warned the member though, and seriously, I do not know how he acts right now, all I can do is ask good members there to look for me, and just tell me, if anything like that happen again. This chatbox feature is being abused, for sure. and yeah, the suprising thing is, it wasn't newbies who abuse this feature, i even saw talkers do too.
This is only my suggestion (if its only possible) chatbox must filter all the bad words. example: fuck = *censored* bitch = *censored*
i agree with this, do not censor it, just, make the member unable to post it. And what is concerning, what if they say bad things using non-english language? This will be very complicated.

They know all the bad to their country ;) this is only my suggestion if its possible only :D
chatbox must filter all the bad words... we must not access 'friendsternewbie' rank
hey don, yeah that's exactly what my proposal is saying. I hope this will be spread and that admin could see this & take action.
what if they say bad things using non-english language?
that's true, that didn't cross my mind but that is one good aspect pointed out. Hopefully there is a report button that can be implemented in the page so if anything like that happens, any member could report such flaming or what not. Thank you guys for replying.
Hopefully there is a report button that can be implemented in the page
yah, I agree with this idea sis. By putting report button, members posting in the chat box will be more conscious in their post. Therefore It will lessen the disgusting/vulgar/inappropriate words.

Agree something needs to be done but the last time something like this was happening over and over admin removed the chat box..maybe that is what it will take again to get members attention.
If they using a non-english word, moderators can help. They know all the bad to their country ;)
moderators are not always there. coz there are other sections in need of their help. da best thing is for other members to provide a screenshot of those using vulgar words and report it to moderators via PM.
Agree something needs to be done but the last time something like this was happening over and over admin removed the chat box..maybe that is what it will take again to get members attention.
haha! i think many people will disagree on dis because many people already found love via chatbox. why not make the chatbox..ehrm, international? i mean, u can only post in english and not in tagalog/indo/malay. :D:D

I agree it should not be removed some members do love to chat :D Hopefully admin or the mods will have better solution =)

They can fake it by the use of photoshop. and some members don't know how to use a screenshot and if they know, some of the them will be lazy to use a print screen and upload them. Its a hard time for them =) this is only my choice  filter the bad words  friendsternewbie cannot access chatbox  make a report button
why not make the chatbox..ehrm, international? i mean, u can only post in english and not in tagalog/indo/malay.
I agree to this, putting a rule there ;)
I think screenshot for now is not effective.
I agree to this, putting a rule there ;)
yep., why not put a reminder on top of the chatbox "post in English language only"
That was part of the earlier problem :o some members were offended, you might still find the topic just closed.
earlier problem? :/

It's silly but it's not impossible. However, screen shots are beneficial as proof for issues like these. & Elee is right, if chatbox are abused, don't u think they could ignore the policy "post in English language only"? besides they've got the general rules to follow, which they should have read before they registered.
last time something like this was happening over and over admin removed the chat box
i just hope one of the proposal will be implemented, whichever admin finds best as a solution.

i rather suggest to assign some moderators to moderate the chatbox rather than blocking newbies and filter bad words. apparently all newbies are affected on this problem.
what a condition. better to remove the chatbox feature to lessen chaos.
chat box was once removed, and was requested back. Now that it's back, you want it to be removed again? We have to be grateful to Admin for giving us back the chat box. And now that we can see some of the "flaws", then, it's time for us to discuss the improvements that need to be done. (in fact, it was mentioned previously that suggestions to improve the chatbox are welcome). Removing the chat box is not a solution.

Well, all i can say to you guys is thank you for giving your fair share of opinions and added suggestions, i'm glad this topic wasn't avoided, thinking that I don't see many people who uses the chatbox... we can tell how this forum makes great teamwork because we all unify with even small issues. Like i said before, all im waiting for is feedback from mr. admin.
i am not sure if forum rules are applicable to chat box...
kuya, I just thought since it's under the forum, that any post whatsoever everyone will account on the gen rules, even if it was in egroups, pm or chatbox.
We have to be grateful to Admin for giving us back the chat box... it was mentioned previously that suggestions to improve the chatbox are welcome
right, it's kind of insulting to give back what's freely given to you -per say.
