This is only my suggestion (if its only possible)
chatbox must filter all the bad words.
example:
[s]fuck[/s] = *censored*
[s]bitch[/s] = *censored*
and so on...
just like in saybox.
and also, we must not access 'friendsternewbie' rank
to the chatbox, to prevent spamming or flaming
If they using a non-english word, moderators can help.
They know all the bad to their country
this is only my suggestion if its possible only

moderators are not always there. coz there are other sections in need of their help.
da best thing is for other members to provide a screenshot of those using vulgar words and report it to moderators via PM.
Agree something needs to be done but the last time something like this was happening over and over admin removed the chat box..maybe that is what it will take again to get members attention.
haha! i think many people will disagree on dis because many people already found love via chatbox.
why not make the chatbox..ehrm, international? i mean, u can only post in english and not in tagalog/indo/malay.
some members were offended, you might still find the topic just closed.
I agree it should not be removed some members do love to chat
Hopefully admin or the mods will have better solution
this is only my choice
filter the bad words
friendsternewbie cannot access chatbox
make a report button

I agree to this, putting a rule there .gif)
why would someone waste so much time "photoshopping" screenshots.
coz dats what i do when i reported to a moderator.,i just gave a print screen and translation of those words. coz a member here posted vulgar words but they're in tagalog., he was already warned i think.

earlier problem?

i think it's just a precaution/scenario which don was pointing out because it's possible for someone to do that. It's silly but it's not impossible. However, screen shots are beneficial as proof for issues like these.
& Elee is right, if chatbox are abused, don't u think they could ignore the policy "post in English language only"? besides they've got the general rules to follow, which they should have read before they registered.
last time something like this was happening over and over admin removed the chat box
i just hope one of the proposal will be implemented, whichever admin finds best as a solution.

hmmm~~~u got a point.
Because they are a member of this forum, they must follow the rules implemented therein.
If they violate the rules.,then they must be prepared for sanctions.
judging from it.,ehrm.,if it cannot really be helped.,removal of that chatbox is a-okay with me.,
but it made me laugh. lmao
im sure 100 posts are not dat hard.,wkakaka~~
is there anyway to report them if all they do is spam?
but it made me laugh. lmao
providing a screenshot and den PM mods. dats da best way.,
yah, i like ur idea chris.,having a report button on da chatbox
*edited.,report button was dondon's idea.,wkakakk

off-limits to newbies
filtering of some words
i rather suggest to assign some moderators to moderate the chatbox rather than blocking newbies and filter bad words. apparently all newbies are affected on this problem.
posts in chat box are not permanent, unlike the posts on forum boards. even there are assigned MODs, they cannot monitor the messages.
in that case, I agree with Dondon -> a report button would be fine.
and Mabel -> report messages should be supported by a screen shot.
what a condition. better to remove the chatbox feature to lessen chaos.
chat box was once removed, and was requested back. Now that it's back, you want it to be removed again?
We have to be grateful to Admin for giving us back the chat box. And now that we can see some of the "flaws", then, it's time for us to discuss the improvements that need to be done. (in fact, it was mentioned previously that suggestions to improve the chatbox are welcome). Removing the chat box is not a solution.
