seriously, I believed that Santa Claus exists when I was still a kid -- it's a "tradition"..
but naturally, as we grow older, we find the true meaning of "Santa Claus".. "Santa Claus" became a verb rather than a noun. For me, it symbolizes gift giving not only to friends and love ones but to the less fortunate as well.
Moreover, for now, I am letting my kids to "believe" in Santa Claus, and it'll be for them to realize someday who really Santa is.

I do not really believe he exists. He was just exposed everywhere to educate the children about Giving and sharing and all those values. But I do believe on St. Nicholas -> He gave gifts secretly.
