Just few hours ago my mum accidentally clicked OK on those pop up things that appear in FS. Then McAfee VirusScan appeared telling us that the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\ryllqw.dll is infected by the Vundo trojan and cannot be cleaned. I tried to Quarantine it but a pop-up window appear saying that "Verify that the file is not write-protected and try again." I looked for a solution on how to change a file from write protected to not write protected. The solution asked me to right click on properties and change the attributes into Read-Only. But nothing happens when I try to delete the infected file. I then tried many software and still nothing happened. I tried System Restore but still nothing happened. That's why I came here for you to help me on how to delete this Trojan. Please help me if you know how to get rid of the said trojan. Thank You in advance.

I just tried it. Didn't work :crybaby: Just a quick question. Can a trojan spread and affect your other files?

Bro, try to 'system restore' again your comp in an earlier times. before the time that your mom does not use your comp.

I did something stupid before I thought about System Restore. Bcoz when I was searching for a solution there is this topic in McAfee forum. The topic author has the same prob with me and a replier told the guy to turn off his System & Restore and the author replied Thank You so I thought it would work. So I turned it S&R and reboot then I thought about System & Restore. I turned it on again and when I try to do it the earliest time is 28/12/08. It's the same date when the trojan attacked. So I didn't even bother to S&R it coz it wouldn't work anyway. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Psyanne Thanks. I'm going to try it maybe later. Another message appear from McAfee VirusScan. It's something about PUP. I have no idea what to do; shall I remove it?
