They’ve been playmates since they were young. They both loved the same thing but they never hesitate to share it to each other.When they reach high school, Sid’s heart began to beat for a girl named Ella. Things were on the right track then, Sid wished Ethan to be the bridge since he was close to Ella and they were Club mates and Lab partners. No more buts, Ethan cannot argue. Ella was just a simple girl, she never wished to be admired and all she wanted in her life is to reach success in her study. Ethan being close to her every single day realized that he was now falling for her. He tried to control this feeling but he cannot control love. He tried to keep everything locked but there are no secrets that cannot be revealed. Due to this fact, he spilled everything out to Ella without concentration at all. The girl was so shocked to hear everything; she couldn’t find her thoughts either.Ethan begun to worry, how could he tell his best friend about this. He tried to walk away, and breathe for fresh oxygen just to relax his immune system. When suddenly, a cold heart with a temperature so unnatural to Ethan grabbed his arm and whispered, “I am so glad to hear that straight from you. I never thought you would feel the same way too.” Terrified, he hugged Ella right away. Keeping all this clandestine, every single day was stressful yet every pain will just be ceased by the love they shared for each other. They acted everything in a manner that Sid could not imagine that there was already something in their eyes. Yet blabbermouth cannot control snooping around on the actions of other ordinary people, they discovered what was planned to be hidden. They tried to get in touch to Sid but before they could spit everything, Sid already gotten his self tied to ask of the real Ella’s feeling. Afraid to be ignored, Sid walked with nervousness he cannot empower. Upon reaching Ella’s side, he asked for her answer. Silently, Ella conversed what’s her heart’s true desire. She never mentioned any name yet she said, “I cannot give back what you have offered. My heart doesn’t speak your name. I’m sorry, I cannot love you the way I loved this man in my compassion.” Sid’s heart blotted blood and it screamed for an appeal. After that heartbreaking scene, Sid was approached by those fan girls who just loved to ruin everything. They told, that the person who tugged Ella’s heartstrings and made it bloom beautifully was none other than the closest guy he couldn’t envision, Ethan. Black clouds covered Sid’s surrounding and anger created immeasurable tension, a spark that is going to fire up and a war that is about to happen. He rushed to Ethan’s corner and dragged him with fist ready to unleash. He was about to explode and hit Ethan’s face when all of a sudden Ella came to block the rage of Sid’s body. Because of this, silence broke the place, and the coward of love ran for his fortification. Two months passed and still no words could communicate the two men in this story. They just passed to each other every morning, no greetings, no smile and everything is like nothing. They forgot what they had gone through from the past and failed to remember that they were once Best friends. Ethan haunted by his guilt looked for possibilities to stop this kind of behavior. He talked to Sid but it never paid attention even for a single word to listen to. Sicked of it, he told him, “I’ve done wrong. Don’t you worry because if I cannot take back your smile then I will not smile either. I’m sorry.” The other day Ethan talked to Ella about the whole thing telling her, that they have to stop it. There is no point of continuing this if someone is not happy for it. Ella froze and could not move her lips to utter an answer. It’s the tears that summed everything together. Ethan never looked at her for him to not sympathize and instead he just said, “I am not greedy, I want my best friend to feel my happiness but I would like him to have more than mine. I love you but he needs you more than I do and I know that you would be better for him than for a worthless guy like me. I think that this will be goodbye.” Every single word shattered the love that started a while, and sadly ended like this. The next day, Ella ran into Sid and talked to him while holding a paper heart torn into two pieces, a small size and a big size. She gave the big one to Sid and stapled the small one to a letter. She explained everything to Sid and they hugged for the last time. Sid now smiled to Ethan and asked forgiveness and while doing it so, he passed the letter into Ethan’s palm and left. Ethan read the letter under a shade of a tree. [i]Ethan, I am saying goodbye now. I have parted my love the way you told me so. I have paid the love Sid offered to me. And to you, I’m giving you this small part, it may be small but this is the center of my heart and the root of my love. I was still hoping to receive even the smallest part of your heart because I believe that every part resembles your deep love, not maybe for me but I will just think that you once loved me.
