Prefetching programs doesn't mean that its going to make programs more proficient with lesser lag. It'll help the program which you've tweak by prefetching load more faster than the usual, not run more faster. Prefetch comes in handy when you've got 512mb RAM or higher. Prefetch is designed to speed up program launching by preloading programs into memory - not a good idea if memory is in short supply, as it can make programs hang. 1. Click 'Start' then 'Run' 2. Type in 'Regedit' then click 'Ok' 3. Navigate to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters\ ' 4. Right-click on "EnablePrefetcher" and set the value to '0' to disable (without the ' ) 5. Hence, set the value to '1' to disable (without the ' ) 6. Reboot. PS: sorry for the late reps, was out for 2restdays :D
