Access Hollywood has learned that Sir Elton John is one candidate who will not be taking over for sharp-tongued Brit. Elton, who was a guest judge on Season 3 of the hit FOX reality series, has turned down a whopping $33 million offer to be a judge on “Idol.” It is not known if the massive payday was for one season or for a multi-year contract. A rep for FOX told Access they had “no comment” about Elton being offered the job and a rep for the singer was unavailable for comment when contacted by Access. According to Entertainment Weekly, Cowell’s replacement will not be named until after the May 26 finale.

SOURCE my opinion: It would be great if he'll be replacing Simon cas for most of us, he is a real inspiration and an ultimate idol :) btw, GO MAMA SOX! :lol3:

:point: Kara DioGuardi Confirms That She Is Leaving ‘American Idol’

New American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi is confirming to TV Guide magazine that if everything goes according to the initial plan she will be, indeed, leaving AI after this season is over. She reveals that she was only brought on board for one season but I suspect there’s more to it than that. Having 4 judges means there is less time for each judge to go about the business of judging. Recently there was a terrible episode of AI were only 2 of the 4 judges was allowed time do judge each performance … it just didn’t work. As a result, Kara has got to go. She’s finally come into her own, but the newest American Idol judge knows as little as we do about whether or not the four-judge format is here to stay. “I’m only here for one season,” Kara DioGuardi tells TV Guide Magazine exclusively. “That’s what we’ve discussed. So we’ll see what happens. Hopefully they’ll keep me on.” When asked if DioGuardi would be back next year, Simon Cowell told TV Guide Magazine, “I would imagine so, but the only say I have is about Ryan, Randy and Paula. I’ve always made it clear that I wouldn’t like to do the show without them. So that’s all I’m really concerned about.” At the Phoenix House’s 6th Annual Triumph for Teens Awards Gala in Beverly Hills on April 30, DioGuardi admits to us that the experience has been overwhelming, but says she is nothing but grateful. “My life has become extremely exciting and I am so excited for this opportunity,” she says. “I feel grateful to America that they let me grow and they let me find my groove on the show and that they were patient. And hopefully I haven’t disappointed them. It’s been a scary experience at times.” The songwriter with more than 100 hit singles to her name has already considered pairing up with this season’s Idols for some song writing sessions, but first on the agenda has been penning the winner’s song. She has submitted her entry and is now waiting to find out which song will be picked.
SOURCE my opinion: Kara did a great job when it was her turn to replace Paula. WTH is going on? I just sometimes hate her cas she imitates Paula (in a way). Tssss. Btw, they look similar. lols

:point: Ryan Seacrest Says Justin Bieber Could Replace Simon Cowell On 'Idol'

At KIIS-FM's annual Wango Tango festival on Saturday, the host of the station's "On-Air With Ryan Seacrest" was feeling a little overshadowed as Bieber fever spread in Los Angeles' Staples Center. "The vibe is 'Where's Justin Bieber?' — that's the vibe," Seacrest joked to MTV News, when we caught up with him backstage. "All the girls that are hanging out here, even the ones that work for us, are like, 'Have you seen him?' I'm like, 'I'm right here.' And they're like, 'No, Justin Bieber him.' " But when talk turned to the topic of who should replace departing "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell next season, Seacrest had some ideas. "It's gonna be different because there's going to be an empty chair at the end of that panel," the "AI" host said. "I'm not quite sure who's going into that chair, so it's a big [decision]," he added. The tough-talking Brit will go his own way after season nine with plans to head up the American version of talent show "The X Factor." "Who would I want in that chair?" Seacrest wondered aloud. "I would want a much younger, thinner, more charming Simon. ... Bieber — he's the guy!" Recently, another "Idol" alum, guest judge Neil Patrick Harris, weighed in on who he would like to see take over for Cowell. And it wasn't Bieber. "I feel like [Simon]'s irreplaceable," Harris said. "I feel like whoever gets that spot has such a target on their back. I think [Howard] Stern would be great. I think he's adequately polarizing and has strong opinions about things in a legitimate way, and I'm a fan of Howard Stern."
SOURCE my opinion:THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE. well duh?! justin bieber is new to this industry. what does he know about judging? he's still in grade 10 (for god's sake) it's not that im underestimating him, this is just not right - well for a joke and myself i guess lols

:point: Simon vs. Ellen: American Idol Judges Feuding Already, Sources Say

American Idol viewers haven't seen Ellen DeGeneres on TV yet. But Simon Cowell may have already had enough of her! The comedian started taping the Hollywood rounds of the show last week and will debut on Fox on February 9. How is she getting along with the most important panelist of all? “Their relationship started poorly, but now the situation has escalated,” a source told RadarOnline.com. The tension stems from Ellen's very first day on set, as reports indicate Simon showed up an hour and a half and DeGeneres was "greatly annoyed" by such tardiness. “There’s two camps on the show this season,” said a show insider. “It’s a lot more tense than previous seasons. It seems as if Ellen has decided to try to take control since Simon is on his way out and that’s created problems.” Sounds like it will create great television, as well. Are you excited for Ellen to debut? Do you wanna see Katy Perry take over for Cowell next season? You can also check out the leaked names of rumored season nine semifinalists. The next American Idol will likely come from this group.
SOURCE my opinion: OH! is that why ellen doesnt argue with simon on AI? lols get over it. in 3 days, season 9 will finally end & simon will now have to say bye bye bye. lols

:point: American Idol: Everyone—and No One!—Will Take Over for Simon Cowell

Let the countdown begin. Simon Cowell's coveted judging slot on American Idol is now up for grabs, but who's really, truly getting the Idol gig next season? Names are being thrown around willy-nilly (Madonna?!), but we're here to tell you things are not at all what they seem... Very reliable Idol insiders tell us that, as of now, show producers plan on replacing the chesty Brit with...no one?! Says one source: "They most likely will have 'guest judges,' and not a single new Simon." When asked about the possibility of Idol's judges table being reduced to three, á la Paula Abdul's era, Kara DioGuardi was none too pleased, stating: "I guess there's that possibility, [but] I hope not." In fact, she'd much prefer Simon stick around the show a little bit longer--they're just finding their flirty groove, ya know? "I only have two stories of Simon in my head: One was when I first came on the show , where [we weren't] really connecting, and I felt like he wasn't feeling me. And now this season we have a common respect for each other," she explains. "I've learned a lot from him, really enjoyed my time with him and I'm going to miss him." What do you think about having different celebs on the panel each week next season? Could they possibly replace Simon's musical brilliance?
SOURCE my opinion: i certainly will miss simon & his flirtiness lols (he flirted with jasmine trias thaz why she made it to the finals :lol3:) it would be great if their mentors (each week) will also be one of the judges , well at least they've got someone backing up for simon
BTW, I heard that Simon and the rest of the AI's staff are eyeing on Adam Lambert as a judge. :)

In all honestly, I really dont care about American Idol nowadays, Besides the industry today does not long for great artists with amazing vocals anymore. It's all about catchy danceable beats & repetitive, sexual lyrics. But some artists still made it, not that big though. Thus, the previous winners went no where, IMO.
