What was the most thought-provoking anime you've seen? The anime that made you think a lot.. You've probably seen it by accident or you simply wanted to see it. How was it for you and what do you think was it's message? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - My pick is KINO NO TABI aka Kino's Journey. (link) It was by far the most intelligent anime show I've seen. It was almost purely philosophical. Watching the series was like reading The Little Prince. Based from a collection of novels, from nine books. The series was an adaptation from these books. It was released in 2003, and a movie was released around 2005. Click this link for the English website. Excerpt from My Review at SayoNatchi site: Sometimes called “Kino’s Journey” or “Kino’s Travels” –“Kino No Tabi” is probably the most artiest and most thought-proving animé I’ve seen (really!). Based from the sensational novel series by Keiichi Sigsawa that became popular in Japan back in 2000, “Kino No Tabi” is the unique story of a young traveler named Kino, and Kino’s traveling companion, a talking motorcycle named Hermes. Together, they travel from country to country, meeting different people, and exploring different cultures. They learn and discover new things as they travel, and thus, making this show a delightful series, because you learn with its characters.
