Only a few know that I too am a feature writer. I like the freedom to write anything under the sun.
I wanted to write because I am very expressive and I love to show how I feel toward a thought but indirectly.
That is actually one of the reasons I wanted to forum, I wanted to experience fighting for my opinion. I am also a speaker, I like to debate with other people and declaiming poetry and the like.
These are my simple talents and because of these talents I joined some events and I won:
Champion on the District Division for Featuring Writing Category
and
1st Place in Declamation.
I'm not boasting about it. Just showing and telling. ^___^
A sample of my work:
Teachers: The Unsung Heroes
The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.
-William Arthur Ward
A seed, though small, can grow to be great. It has many things ahead of it but the seed does not know what it will become. It may grow to be the tallest tree or it may crumble under the nature’s wrath. The seed has many things to undergo before it reaches its goal. It has numerous necessities to obtain first. Nature or man serves as its helper before it can handle the world on its own. Same goes with humans, they start out as small individuals with necessities until he learns to provide for himself but they cannot learn on their own. People need someone to look up to for them to learn, they need a steady foundation from which he can gain knowledge and support. These people who we look up to are the teachers.
People have their parents and other people to give them what they need but a teacher teaches him how to get what he requires. Teachers have been the most gallant people of society since the dawn of man. He is like a candle which consumes itself to give light to others; he becomes the very foundation for the development of a human being; he opens the door of social, intellectual, physical and emotional doors that keeps a person from liberating his inner capabilities and does what abides by the laws of his community. The teacher becomes more than an educator but rather he becomes an inspiration and a model of good deeds and assets.
Though a teacher’s life maybe a life of goodness to many. It is, more or less, taken for granted. These teachers are the unsung heroes of the world, some are forgotten and unappreciated but others are remembered and have inspired the lives of many. Teachers may never know how much they’ve influenced a person but it is kept in their hearts and instilled in their minds that they’ve been someone that a person has grown up from, a person that someone has looked up to and someone who has changed their lives.
A teacher may have taught more from what they shown from their actions, than what they’ve said. The words they speak may have not been instilled to a dull mind but what they’ve shown in their actions has taught this mind to do better. A teacher remains strong above circumstances; they are those that give us strength when we lack strength ourselves. They become the givers of hope to our society. A teacher is involved in almost every conflict there is, they are those that help solve modern day issues. In the end, a teacher is connected to every way of living, they develop what people want to be, what they need to be and what they should be.
Aside from what a teacher shows his students, he detests them to be what he is. He wants his pupils to make a life of their own, a way of living that they can call themselves by, teachers merely guide these people to what they want to be and instill in their learner the good deeds they show; instead of making their pupils exactly what they are.
In the end teachers will always be there. Be it the most typical issues to the most drastic of conflicts. Teachers give us strength, knowledge and most important inspiration. To be good people of the community is their vision in us all and to finally see their visions come true is their greatest success. No matter what other people may perceive of teachers, in a students eye, they will always be heroes.
