I would like to suggest if members (and moderators) can have their inbox have a pruning feature. In this way, we don't have to worry about managing it from time to time. We can either set the pruning

That's true, it feels like you have a new email to take care of 
It get's annoying after awhile.. so, I support this.

& personally, i think it could help if the PMs are flagged w/ [b]/!\[/b]an alert sign, so that we know which needs to be looked at first. then again, it can work 50/50 cause people can abuse it.
