[i]Aba’t nagpakyut pa![/i] “Comfys?” “Yeah” “Really?” Tumango siya. “Yey! I miss that place and the foods. Gosh! Ngayon palang kumakalam na agad tummy ko!” Natawa naman siya. “Narinig ko nga eh” “Hmmp. Pasalamat ka at Masaya ako ngayon”, tumawa ako. “Buti naisip mo yun?” “Naman! Matalino ako eh!”, sabi niya sabay kindat sa akin. “Pagbigyan.. Pagbigyan. Basta libre mo ah?” Natawa na naman siya. [i]Is it just me or talagang may halong kaba yung tawa niya?[/i] Sandali lang yung byahe naming since hindi naman traffic and yung lugar malapit lang sa pinag-shootingan naming. “Good evening Ma’am, Sir!”, the manager greeted us as soon as we entered the resto. “Good evening din Martin”, I greeted back pero nakataas yung kilay ko. “What’s with the sudden formality?”, pagtataray ko. Syempre joke lang. “Teka.. bakit walang mga customer? Sarado kayo?”, dagdag ko pang tanong. “Easy Ma’am Cassandra.. Tara na po sa graden?”, yaya niya. [i]Aba! Iniwasan ang tanong ko? Parang there’s something strange about everything; their actions, looks, and even the atmosphere. I can’t point-out what is it pero..[/i] I turned to ask sana si Alex but he’s gone. Hindi ko napansin kung saan siya nagpunta or kalian siya umalis. [i] Gosh! Confirmed na ‘to. May planong kakaiba yung bestfriend kong iyon![/i] “Ma’am?”, tawag ni Martin. I glared at him. “My dear Martin, can you stop doing that?” “Doing what Ma’am?”, feeling inosenteng tanong niya. I grinned then came closer and held his shoulder. “Martin..”, sabi ko. “Ma’am?” “Call me that way again and I tell you, I’ll forget being your friend. Hmm?”, I said and went ahead. Pero nakakailang hakbang palang ako nung may maalala ako. “By the way.. Would you mind telling me what’s with this set-up? Tell me, anong pinaplano ng magaling kong bestfriend?” Inakbayan niya ako at iginaya palabas. “A little impatient, are we Cass? Medyo high-blood ka din. Relas, okay? Stop asking at sumunod ka na lang”, he said and pinched my cheeks. I pouted. “Be sure na matutuwa ako dito ah?” Natawa na lang siya. So.. yun nga, pumunta na kami sa may garden; yung favourite place namin ni Alex slash hang-out place na din ng banda. Everything’s the same naman but it feels otherwise. Siguro sa ambience or dahil I know na may pakulo si Alex mamaya. “Martin? Where’s Alex?”, tanong ko as soon as I sat on the chair. “Somewhere.. Cass, relax lang. Hmmm, check ko lang if everything’s ready na. Okay? I’ll call Alex na rin dahil mukhang magwawala ka na kapag hindi mo pa siya nakita”, he said then winked. I sticked-out my tongue. Natatawang umalis na siya but before siyang pumasok ng tuluyan. “Stay there!”, utos niya. Aso? “Arf!”, I barked. He chuckled then went in. Habang hinihintay ko sila or kung ano mang mangyayare, I looked at the place and I find everything peaceful; a characteristic we found that made us love the place. Ansarap kasing umupo lang then think through things. It gives us peace-of-mind after all the stress na binibigay ng career namin. Mas naging maganda yung mga punong nakapaligid dahil sa lights na nakapalibot sa kanya. Yung tubig sa fountain, na nasa tabi ng table namin, may ilaw din and also the pathway papunta sa amin. And I’m guessing na magiging candlelight dinner yung piniprepare ni Alex. I inhaled to calm my system. I love the smell of the flowers. It made the place more romantic. [i] Romantic?[/i] Bago ko pa mapag-isipan yung about dun, napunta yung atensyon ko sa may pinto. Si Alex with a bundle of flowers. “Nilalamig ka na?”, tanong niya habang palapit. Umiling ako. “I’m fine”, then smiled. Inabot niya sa akin yung flowers nung nakalapit na siya. “For you”, then kissed me in the cheeks. “Ahmm. Thanks”, sabi ko. Inantay ko muna siyang makaupo. “So, care to explain?” “Explain what?”, he asked, playing innocent. “These!”, sagot ko habang nakabuka yung kamay ko referring the lugar. “Ahh..” “Yan lang masasabi mo?”, naiinis kong sabi. “Later. You’ll understand later, Cass. For now, why don’t we enjoy the foods and everything?” Aalma pa sana ako kaso dumating na yung food namin. [i]Later.. Fine![/i] The foods are superb! Maybe because these are all our favourites but I don’t know parang there’s something more na nilagay nila?! [i]Never mind! Ang mahalaga masarap![/i] We talked while we’re eating; like what he said, we enjoyed the night and each other’s company. Kahit pa naman dati, super comfortable na kami sa isa’t-isa and prolly that’s the reason why we became close. We definitely understand each other’s concerns or tantrums; we know things na kami lang din ang nakakaalam. I find Alex as a great man. He’s fun-to-be-with, caring, sweet, romantic, kind, and many more. Sa katunayan nga, loving him is such an easy thing to do. I bet a lot of women are dying to have his heart. Kaya medyo nagtataka ako kung bakit until now, wala pa siyang pinapakilalang GF sa amin. It’s been 4 years since nung break-up nila ni Sally and after that, never ko na siyang napansing tumingin sa iba. He often appreciates some girls’ beauty but that’s it. Puro paghangga but wala siyang ginagawa. One time, I asked him but ang laging sagot niya.. “Nasa band ang focus ko”. Showbiz noh? Nung kinuha ni Martin yung plates namin ng desserts, I caught them nod at each other bago siya umalis. Hindi ko naman pinahalatang nakita ko yun. [i]Patience teh! Patience.[/i] “Cass..” Nabuga ko yung tubig na iniinom ko nung marinig ko boses ko. [i]Waa. Major no-no to! Bakit naman kasi kailangang manggulat pa?[/i] Nagmadali naman siyang pumunta sa akin at tinulungan ako. “I-I’m f-fine” Nung nakita niyang ayos na ako, bumalik na siya sa upuan niya. “S-So, A-ano yun?” “I love you” Natawa ako. “And I love you, too” Kala ko naman kung ano. “No.. you don’t get it, Cass”, he said then, went to my side. “I love you, not as a bestfriend but as a woman; as Cassandra Villamor” Nakatulala lang ako sa kanya. [i]Ano daw?[/i] “Cass. I know I’m risking too much dahil sa confession na ‘to. I value our friendship as much as I value you”, he said then held my hand. [i]Gosh! Ang ganda ko![/i] “I’ve been loving you since the day I saw you. I’ve loved you more since the day you offered your shoulder to me. You were there nung super down ako. You helped me overcome yung sadness na dulot ng problems ko. That day, I realized how wonderful you are” He held my face. “I tried getting rid of this. Believe me, I’ve done everything para lang mawala ‘to cause I really treasure you. I can’t allow you to hate me. Ikamamatay ko yun. I tried having relationship with other girls but wala talaga. I love you Cassandra”, Alex confessed. “Y-You. L-Love me.”, hindi pa rin makapaniwalang sabi ko. He nodded. “So much na hindi ko na matago”, sabi niya habang nakangiting super tamis. Hindi pa din ako makapaniwala. I don’t know how would I respond? [i]Do you love him?, [/i]tanong ng isang bahagi ng isip ko. [i]Hmm. Y-Yes?, [/i]sagot ko. [i]Then, tell him.[/i] “C-Cass?”, tawag ni Alex na mukhang mas kinakabahan na. I smiled. “Alexis Montemayor, alam mo hindi ka mahirap mahalin eh. You’re such a great man na kahit sinong mahalin mo ay tingin ko napakaswerte. And with all your confessions, I never thought na ako pala yung maswerteng babae na yun” Nakatingin lang siya sa akin. Carefully listening sa lahat ng sinasabi ko. I held his face. “I love you, Alexis and I’m glad na mahal mo rin ako”, I confessed. Kitang-kita ko kung paanong lumaki yung mata ni Alex. Matatawa na sana ako ng Makita ko yung ngiti niya. I never have seen him smile like this and I’m happy kasi ako ang dahilan. Tumayo siya at niyakap ako. “Waaa! I’m the happiest guy on earth!”, sabi niya. Natawa ako. “And I’m the luckiest one!” Binitawan niya ako at hinarap. “I really, really love you so much, Cass” I chuckled. “I know right”, I smiled sweetly. “I love you, too Alex” Nawala ngit ko kasi nakatingin lang siya sa akin. “B-Bakit?”, tanong ko. “Can I?”, seryosong tanong niya. “What?” “Kiss you..” Natawa naman ako but then.. [b]I smiled and closed my eyes.[/b]
