I tried all status bar scripts (CSS and javascript) here, but sad to say they do not work now on new browsers like IE7 and MOzilla Fireforx 2003-up.
Please update your scripts. Handy Tip : Newer browsers are plugging holes that allowed scripts to use areas of the browser, such as the status bar, to convey messages. Always try a script and if it doesn't work then perhaps considers using scrolling text placed near the bottom of the page as an alternative.

Like I said, the status bar script contributed on this message thread does NOT work anymore on IE7 and latest Mozilla browsers. Most scripts on this forum have browsers and browser versions compatibily problems.
Also, using the Title bar script contributed on this message thread will have IE7 complain about a script error. You see IE7's complain about the error on your status bar lower left side of the browser. I hope people contributing scripts would first debug their scripts and test them with diff browsers and others about any errors and compatibility problems.
Just my two cents on and no pun intended! Thanks for the scripts!

For the info... Page title and status bar CSS can add errors on page most expression tags are used in scripts but if converted to CSS like welcome alert title bar good bye alert and status bar it adds some page errors. I suggest use scripts if you donot like page errors

Yef. Im now using a script for my title bar using that title bar generator from another website. Do you know of any java script for the status bar that would work for IE7 and latest firefox browsers?
I still have one more page error caused by the Bye Alert Window in my css. Do you also have a javascript for the bye alert window?

Actually you can find IE title bars with comparability just search specifically

The codes works but if you put too much symbols especially [b]'[/b] symbols the code won't work.
Also if you tamper the alignment the code won't work efficiently...
