Chapter 2
I shouldve known it would be like this. Things would not stay the same, especially if you transfer to a new environment. I shouldnt probably think about these kinds of things too much. I shouldnt think about what happened with Jonathan too much.
I returned to the auditorium and sat beside my schoolmates. We waited for almost an hour before the program started. The programs started late for more than 30 minutes. However, we cannot do anything about that of course. During the opening ceremony, all schools that were going to participate were called. Well, at least all schools except for us. That incident made me complain. I called one of the CAT officers of SCU who were the people in charge of the program and asked her why our school wasnt called.
Did you register outside the auditorium?
Yes. Yes, we did.
Did you send all the requirements before going here?
Of course,
I was getting a bit impatient with all the officers questions until I suddenly said,
Listen. We have the programs memo here. We sent all requirements. We registered. We paid the fee. All we want is the recognition. Dont you think youre being rude of you wouldnt be mentioning our schools name?
I guess the CAT officer was pissed off with me already (but so am I with her!) so she called another officer. She waved her hands to a guy and called him by the name Brian.
Brian walked towards me.
I see, youre school was not recognized. Were sorry. There shouldve been a mistake.
You should be sorry. Its not as if this was the first time it happened to us here in SCU.
Were really sorry. Well try to fix this.
Thank you.
Yes, as I said, this isnt the first time. The other two times I went here, this happened to us too. DiWA wasnt recognized. I am getting the feeling that they are doing it purposely already.
Brians POV
The CAT officer waved her hands at me and called. She told me about a girl complaining that their school was not recognized. From her uniform, I knew she was from the other school. I knew too that their schools not being able to be distinguished during the ceremony was on purpose. It must have been the rivalry. After all, this isnt the first time SCU officers did this to DiWA students.
I approached her and spoke in a calm manner,
I see, youre school was not recognized. Were sorry. There shouldve been a mistake.
You should be sorry. Its not as if this was the first time it happened to us here in SCU.
Were really sorry. Well try to fix this.
Thank you.
I did fix the problem. We had a public apology and mentioned their school.
By the way, I am Brian Fortes. I am a senior here in SCU and a CAT officer. I dont like describing myself that much.
That girl, the one from DiWa, is a bit demanding yet I couldnt blame her. I might do something worse if the same thing happened to me. Nevertheless, I cant help but remember what happened that morning. She was Jonathans friend. She may have not seen me but I had seen and heard what happened. She is strong and not to mention, beautiful too.
Just who is that girl whom I had only noticed for almost an hour and had earned my admiration already?

Chapter 3
The training will last for three days and so all schools will be here for three days too. Today is just my first day so I would need to hold on until this finishes.
For the first day, photojournalism, sports writing, and copy reading and headline writing were going to have their lecture then contest proper afterwards. Since per category it is divided into two (English and Filipino), both categories had a different lecture. I am our representative in copy reading and headline writing English as I had mentioned before.
By 2 in the afternoon, the category which I was participating in was called. However because the auditorium was being used, we needed to proceed to another venue: the gym. I knew where it was so I went there alone.
Aw. Its raining.
Here, take my umbrella. It was Brian, the CAT officer that morning.
Its okay. Ill survive without your umbrella. Besides, youll get wet.
Dont bother me. This is my school after all, so Ive got clothes in my locker.
Really. But then
Too late. He put the umbrella in my hands and ran before I could even protest about it. When he ran, he turned back to smile and wave.
You dont even know me. Moreover, I am from your rival school. Why are you being so nice?
That was what I whispered. I didnt notice that there was a girl behind me.
Hes so kind. Hes cute as well, isnt he? she said, by the way, Im Bea from St. Agatha of Sicily Institute.
I dont really know what to say about Brian, that guy a while ago. Well, Im Chin of Divine Will Academy. Are you heading to the Gym too?
Yes, I am. I take it were from the same category.
I think so. Come on, lets walk together.
Thats when I earned my first friend from another school. Bea and I walked together and sat beside each other in the lecture. She was a senior already and was a news editor on their school. Shes really nice and although her hair was colored brown and highlighted with tangerine; she wore thick eye glasses; her eyes had mascara and black eye liner on, she was pleasant in a way.
After the lecture, we immediately proceeded with the contest, I think Im not bad for a first-timer but it certainly isnt enough to be in the top 10 out of the 60 schools that were participating. With that, I didnt worry myself about expecting a high rank. Then of course, theres still the umbrella I have to return, which I had only remembered after I noticed that the sun was already shining. Bea had been called by her schoolmates, and even though she insisted on accompanying me I told her I can do it by myself; so here I am, alone.
How am I supposed to return this? I dont even know his whole name.
I wandered in the campus trying to find him. I was heading in no particular direction actually until Barby saw me.
Chin!
Barby!
Barby is a friend. She used to study in DiWA but since her sister was a teacher at SCU, she was transferred here. Nevertheless, we kept in touch.
Hey Barby, do you know a senior named Brian?
Oh. You mean the Brian Fortes? Hes a real heartthrob here.
Yes, I think its him. I need to return to him something.
Is that so? Youll find him in the CAT room across the library hall. Do you want me to come with you?
No thanks. Anyway, Ill talk with you later okay? Thanks again.
Hey, Chin!
Yes?
Be careful. You know how SCU students are with you guys.
Dont worry. Im stronger than them. Thanks for the concern, though.
That made me quite nervous. I am strong but this is not my territory so I need to be careful with my actions. I couldnt simply fight back.
I knocked on the CAT room door which was half-opened. There were 2 boys and a girl inside the room. The girl was the one I had a discussion with this morning; the one whom I got mad at.
Good afternoon. I am looking for Brian Fortes. A friend told me I could find him here.
Oh. Hes not yet here. How about we have a little chat for a while?
I prefer not. I guess Ill be leaving what I had borrowed from him and then go out.
That is if we will allow you to go out.
Youve got nothing to gain if you will ask me to stay here.
Youre probably one of those girls trying to sneak in here to get Brians attention.
I am not that shallow.
Is that what Brian thinks?
Urgh. I just wanted to return something. Why do I need to be stuck here?

--so hapi 2 update this! haha--
Chapter 4
I closed my eyes and hope this would end.
What he thinks doesnt matter, I snapped.
Ooh. Is that what you call the Divine Will spirit? You are indeed courageous just to step your foot in this school.
I would rather not take insults from those who do not know me.
Ooh How scary!
Is that how you are supposed to behave South Crest-lites?
Sir. Sorry, Sir.
I believe it is not me who deserves your apology.
Theres no need for any apologies. I just came to return this.
I left his umbrella on the desk then walked out of the room.
I seldom do this but I did anyway. I whispered to myself, Curse you South Crest-lites.
Brians POV
Hey Brian, a girl called out. It was Barby.
Oh, Hi Barby, I said.
A friend of mine said she wanted to see you so I asked her to go to the CAT room. Why not go and check up on her.
Who might she be?
Why do I need to check up on her?
Shes from the other school.
D*mn!
Why?
Some other CAT officers are there. They might bully her!
I ran and went to the CAT room. What would the officers do? Who is the girl from DiWA?
What he thinks doesnt matter,
Ooh. Is that what you call the Divine Will spirit? You are indeed courageous just to step your foot in this school.
I would rather not take insults from those who do not know me.
Ooh How scary!
I entered the room and saw the girl. She was the one who had earned my admiration.
Is that how you are supposed to behave South Crest-lites?
Sir. Sorry, Sir.
I believe it is not me who deserves your apology.
Theres no need for any apologies. I just came to return this.
She placed the umbrella I lent her and walked away.
I will meet you later. Demerits will be given to you!
I left the room as well and tried to follow the girl.
Miss! Excuse me, miss!
She is so hot headed yet I couldnt blame her (again) because if that happened to me I would have felt the same too.
She looked at me and walked faster. I quicken my pace too until I reached her.
Im really sorry about what happened in there.
I dont know what to say. I want to tell you that it is okay but it I would be lying if I said that. I do think we deserve respect despite the rivalry.
Whoah. That was straight and it hits the spot too.
I dont know how to respond too because I know it was our fault.
I should probably go. I need to cool down or else I might tell hurtful things.
Then she went away.
That was our first serious conversation well, should I consider it like that? I am unsure actually.
Calling Brian Fortes, please proceed to the auditorium. Brian Fortes to the auditorium please.
Auditorium, a task again for the journalism training. Will I see her there?
@topic: she easily loses her temper.haha.
