) that people plan the next contest and they don't end up participating, maybe we should have a [b]Battle Arena[/b] instead? So those members who want to battle/challenge another member into a particular battle can do so.
It's basically like a contest except it's... one-on-one.
Btw, sorry if it sounds complicated. ;n;
For example:
I want to battle bryekristoff20 in a signature battle. Brye, the challenged member, gets to choose whether or not to accept the challenge. [i]Challenging is done via PM/Instant Messaging[/i]. Once there is an agreement on the deadline and such, the challenger makes a new thread in the Battle Arena section (it could possibly be a sub-group in Contest and Events) with the rules, and how the voting is done.

I think this suggestion is great. (: As for the prize, why not have a special badge whenever you duel another member? I mean, there will be a certain badge for the proof that you already won a battle, so members can be more interested with this. (: Then, to make it more exciting, when you like battle a member and won 20 times, there will be another badge for the increasing number of times that you won. Level by level. (:

^ This will make the suggestion more complicated. And I would think [b]it will lose the essence of obtaining a badge won from a major contest[/b] since it'll be easy to get a badge just by winning from these battles. Any substitute for badges would be good tho.

Well, it's friendly competition anyway. Let's just think of this as an... arcade? Two strangers battle and sometimes they become friends. ^^ Maybe it could also be a way for other members to meet new members. I mean, we talk to everyone on the chatbox and ask for their names and such. Could be the same for this one.

As for the badges, I agree with aries. I wasn't really planning on having a prize for this such as a badge. Well, it [i]could[/i] be a badge, but a different kind of badge. A small siggie with the a trophy that says, "Winner: dondon vs. blackmamba - Signature Battle" or something. I could make it for the winners. It's... I dunno, something for fun I guess. Haha.
It's probably also for those people who want to see if they could beat this member or something. Especially for those who have "issues" with another member. If you think you're better than him/her, then just take it to battle! Right? Lmao. Also, I guess it's for those members who didn't get the chance to join but wanted to compete with other members or a specific member. ^^

Not a bad idea. Rather than jerking your enemy member through FB or YM, a contest to settle their differences and beef it out. But I think another prize rather than a badge is more ideal.

It's actually rather neat and organized, and I too, don't like the fact that the people who plan the contests don't even end up participating. I'm one of those people. :facepalm
And about the prizes...I think the staff can give the winner a temporary prize; A temporary badge, probably? I don't know. Probably some effects on the winner's username or avatar or rank or whatever, that last for like a month. I'm not sure.

Exactly. Some people have those "I'm-better-than-you" fights, so why not just battle it out? What better way decide on that than a battle. XD It's also for people who wants to satisfy their curiosity on whether or not they could defeat a particular member. And maybe get some experience, too. :-j

Okay I honestly didn't want people planning events and then bailing out teh last minute teh contest started so.. I guess I kinda likey this idea.
PROS:
-I think it's easier to conduct
-might be able to make new friends in the process
-It's new and exciting. (I like new shiny toys.)
CONS:
-few participants
-there's a possibility that the participant who lose in the battle might well... you know, feel disappointed or discouraged and even worse, quit FT.
For the prize, how about we ask admin to add another item in our profile.
