Oh. I'll be goin to San Francisco i forgot which part lol  im choosing between Chicago and SF but i think id go SF. Angeli youre a filipina right? Where are you now? i mean are you abroad? Europe? Is it true that in Europe, they treat nurses like the lowest level in the food chain unlike in the states?
I'm a Filipina =) Sometimes i go with my dad to Europe..California is okay.. They don't require you to be a CG passer :) but it takes like forever for them to process your nclex documents especially for eligibility :wasted: I've heard about that but i don't think that's true...I know some people just treat nurses like they're nursing aides, caregivers or even just domestic helpers :retard: But Filipino nurses get along with other foreign nurses in the States than in Europe..US is the best state to practice the nursing profession but really hard to get work there (so many requirements needed and there are no available immigrant visas yet, probably just working visas).. In Europe, the cost of living is really expensive there..

I know there'll just be a repetition of cases so at least i already have a collected case study regarding that ^^ Keep Rockin' \m/

Aries I'm not a RN yet but ill try to help. usually pag nagaassess sa school namin unang kinukuha ang V/S muna. Pag sa abdomen, unang ginagawa ay Auscultate and so on.. hehe sana nakatulong ako kahit papano :D

:wallbash:
You can find the full steps on Lippincott's Manual of Nursing Practice" (The Dark Blue Book) It has everything there from the procedures to the rationales :) Just remember regarding Physical Assessment: Head-To-Toe Assessment => Just like what Sis Duch mentioned above Acronym: IPPA (All areas except the abdomen) I - nspection P - ercussion P - Palpation A - uscultation Regarding eye assessment : PERRLA (Pupils equally round and reactive to light and accomodation) Note: If your assessing the abdomen..it's in an IAAP order... Why? => doing percussion and palpation first will may alter the patient's bowel sounds Always inform the patient on what you are going to do like before assessing the patient's reflexes with a reflex hammer..or instructing the patient to stay on a sitting positioning when auscultating the patient's chest using a stethoscope Always prepare what you need before assessing the patient...BP and Stet, Penlight, Otoscope, Tongue depressor, Clean Gloves (Used to assess the oral cavity) etc. While assessing the patient, it's important to interact with the patient to establish rapport, promote patient cooperation and comfort and most importantly trust...While assessing you may ask questions that may help you gather sufficient data in order to make a good NCP for your patient. Always promote patient's privacy so if there are areas to be examined that needs to be draped then do that
Diniscuss lang nung CI namin but hindi sya nag demo. then sinasabi nya na nagdemo daw sya. so nagmukhang magulo tuloy :wallbash:
Di yan puedeng diniscuss lang yung CI nyo tapos walang return demo.. unfair yan sa mga students.. maybe she's just lazy to perform the return demo...I used to have a CI like that..She never gave us a return demo on what to do with the instruments and stuff in the OR so when i had to scrub in i got a lot of mistakes.. talagang dami akong bloopers doon..pinapagalitan pa ako nang doctor bakit di ko alam ang lahat nang mga instrumento..I can't just say "dahil hindi kami binigyan nang return demo sa CI" baka bibigyan ako nang extension pag malaman nang CI ko yan.. :wasted: Keep Rockin' \m/

^ i think first off you must love caring. if you love caring for people that's the time you'll love your profession. i don't like my career too back when i was in 3rd year but as i encounter different cases in my duty, that was the time i started to love my career. =) and think positive, you'll pass the board. positive thinking produces positive outcome.
