The new guys are already here. “Good morning Pres.” A student greeted me, I just grinned, pero nanlulumo talaga ako. I can see guys everywhere. Nasapo ko yung nook o. This is really beyond imagination. BEEEP! Napalingon ako, there was a rushing motorbike. I immediately stepped aside. “Tumabi ka kasi.” The guy on it told me and left. He looks familiar, parang nakita ko na siya noon… But IDC. He gets on my nerves! I can’t believe it. Araw araw nang magiging ganito ang buhay ko sa eskwelahang ito?! -- “NO WAY!” I exclaimed. “Are you serious Marj? Even the classes will be joined?!” I asked. “Oo. Hindi mo ba nakita sa bulletin boards? Unfortunately, we’ll be in different classes from today.” I grunted in disgust. “Sige, aalis na ako. Let’s just meet during breaks. See ‘ya.” She waved goodbye, took her bag, and left. “AAAARRRGGH. Kabadtrip.” Napatingala ako as noiseoccupied the room. My other classmates were thrilled as they looked at the guys entering one by one. Ako rin napatingin na. Well, some of them were like geeks, some look like happy-go-lucky and then nagulat ako sa huling pumasok. The guy who was riding his motorcycle. Nag init agad yung dugo ko. Look how he’s wearing his uniform. Tsk. Bukas ang butones that we can see his undershirt. He has piercing. Two on his left ear and three on his right. Ano siya, siga?! He was wearing silver stuffs on his wrists and then a skull necklace. “What is he, a rocker?” “He’s so… Cool…” I heard my other classmates say. Tsk. No way. As the student council president, I can’t let such a… A trash-look. He took the empty seat beside me. Eew. I just took a glance at him. Gwapo nga, pero mukhang troublemaker. Napatingin ule ako to examine his face. Tss. Sayang. “Why do you keep looking at me?” He suddenly asked sabay tingin sakin. Napatda ako at napatingin sa unahan. “I was seeing through your uniform. It’s… Inappropriate.” Our class adviser entered the room. “Okay so, we have new classmates to introduce. Anyway, Ms. Francisco, please assist them.” I stood up with pride. Yeaaah. “I’m Cheska Francisco. I’m the Student Council President of this school.” “Tsk. Doesn’t seem like it.” I heard the guy whispered. Napasulyap lang ako sakanya. Tss. I sat down. “So let us start our brief introduction. Name, age and hobbies.” Our adviser looked around and then pointed to the guy beside me. “You, Sir.” “Me?” He pointed to himself. What a rebel. “Uh-huh. Please stand.” I told him. “Are you serious? Is that even needed?” He stared at my adviser, natahimik kaming lahat. “T-Then let’s just proceed to someone else.” HUWWAAT? I heard him smirk. “That serves him right.” He said and leaned on his table, like he was sleeping. Anong klaseng tao ‘to? Amp naman o. Isang estudyante pa lang nakakaasar na. -- After class, sinita ko na agad si Mr. Rebel. “Excuse me?” I whispered to him. Hindi siya gumagalaw. Acutally, tulog siya the whole period. Siguro matalino ‘to. “HEEY. Mister. Gising..?” Wala talaga. I leaned closer to him. “HEY-?” Nagulat ako nang bigla siyang humarap at nagkaface-to-face kami. Napaurong ako pabalik sa pwesto ko. OH dang. Namumula ako, I know. He smiled at me. Nakakaloko ah. “Gusto mo ‘kong halikan? Ambilis mo naman.” I reddened, sh*t. What a bastard! “S-Sira ka ba? I was just waking you up!” “What for?” He asked sabay unat at hikab. I cleared my throat kahit na naaasar ako sakanya. Damn it. Joker pala ‘to ah. “Like what I was saying awhile ago, Mister. Yung uniform mo, mali. Hindi mo sinusunod ang schools rules. Please remove your jewelries. Button your clothes and--” Then I just found him sleeping again. Nakakaasar!! “Ano ba-?!” “Ches!” Napalingon ako sa harapan. Tinatawag ako nung classmate ko. “Bakit?” “Somebody’s looking for you.” Napakamot ako ng ulo sabay sulyap uli sa lalaking yun. Tsk. I stood up from my seat and went out. “Yeah-?” It was the guy I bumped yesterday. Yung mature. “O-Oh. Bakit?” I asked. He smiled at me. Medyo nagulat ako, kasi yung ngiti niya… It was attractive. Oh Cheska, wag kang ganyan. “I’m Paul Jake. Paul Jake Maniago.” “Cheska. Cheska Francisco.” He smiled again. Ayokong ngumiti pabalik… P-Pero… It’s weird na napangiti ako. “The vice principal is calling us.” “What for?” I asked. “I don’t know. Let’s go?” He asked. Tumango ako at naglakad kami papuntang office. -- “W-What? He’s the president…?” I asked. “Yes, Cheska. Paul Jake is also a student council president.” Napatingin ako kay Paul Jake. “S-So?” “Since the student council room is big enough for the two of you, why don’t you share it and… Please cooperate with each other.” Pwede ba yun? Dalawang presidents sa iisang school? I sighed. Whatever. I think he’s a nice guy, kaya pwede na siguro. He looked at me. “It will be good working with you.” He said sabay shake hands. I shook hands with me. “I think the same way.” I answered, though I really don’t. Why do I… Need to be with a guy?! -- We entered the student council room. Dalawa naman ang tables dun and it was really big enough kasi dito hinohold yung mga meetings namin. “Wow. It’s big..” “I’ll take this table.” I said sabay hawak dun sa table ko. “Alright.” I just looked at him as his eyes roamed around. “So… How’s your day with the new system?” I asked. “You mean Co-Ed? .. Well… To be frank, I hate guys kaya pumasok ako sa exlcusive for girls na school… So, I can’t say it’s okay.” He grinned. “I see. Then you must hate me?” He asked. Napakamot ako ng ulo. “W-Well… With what I said, I just mean that I don’t… Want to fall in love. That’s it. “ “Then becoming friends just fine?” He asked. I nodded. “Right. Friends.” He smiled once again at me. “Then it’s nice to be your friend, Cheska.” As I stared at him… It felt nice. I just had my very first guy friend. Then suddenly, the door opened. “PJ.” Napalingon kaming dalawa. It was the rebel guy! “I-Ikaw? A-Anong ginagawa mo dito?” I asked. “You know each other?” Paul Jake asked. The rebel smiled. “Yeah, she’s from my class, PJ. Hi Cheska.” He greeted me. “Kent, what did I tell you about your looks?” Paul Jake said. He grinned at us sabay pasok sa loob. “Kent…?” I repeated. “Oh right. Hindi pa pala ako nagpapakilala. I’m Kent Francis Maniago. PJ’s cousin.” Kent Francis. Paul Jake.
