What is namebench:
It hunts down the fastest DNS servers available for your computer to use. namebench runs a fair and thorough benchmark using your web browser history, tcpdump output, or standardized datasets in order to provide an individualized recommendation. namebench is completely free and does not modify your system in any way. This project began as a 20% project at Google.

Tested in Globe, Smart, and PLDT connections, and the recommended settings gave us what we pay for.
Note:
For advanced users only or those willing to learn how to use it...
[li]Download the program.[/li]
[li]Run the program (No install needed).[/li]
[li]Start Benchmark.[/li]
[li]Let it finish.[/li]
[li]Wait for browser to popup with your preferred settings.[/li]
[li]Change your Primary and Secondary DNS with the preferred found at the top right of the page.[/li]
[li]Read this one how to change your Primary and Secondary DNS ->
http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using.html [/li]
[li]If you see and IPv6 setting, change your Alternate IPv6 if possible (skip this idea if you don't know where to find it, because if you can't see the word IPv6 in your settings. It means you don't have it. Only Windows Vista, Windows 7, Ubuntu, Linux, and Mac OS X has that setting. XP and lower OSes doesn't have it if you don't install it or your XP isn't a XP SP3 fresh install).[/li]
Example output. :3

Note the my plan is only 999 Xperience PLDT and the current time is 2:41PM Philippine time. Internet traffic is high at this time, but the speed begs to differ.
