I have noticed that the topics are sorted according to: 1. importance (ex. sticked topics are on top, followed by locked-sticked topics) 2. date of last post I have no problem with n

I have noticed that the topics are sorted according to: 1. importance (ex. sticked topics are on top, followed by locked-sticked topics) 2. date of last post I have no problem with no. 1 item, since those topics are deem important (even if it is active or locked) that should not be "buried" onto the last page, and should be prioritized. But what about the other topics? I'm sure, most of us will notice that in many cases, there are still lots of "active" topics that are "buried" onto the last page of a certain forum/subject. And sadly, some "closed/locked" topics are way above those "active" topics. :( Now, I am suggesting (if it is possible), that right after item no. 1, the topics could be sorted according to: 1. active topics (sorted by date of last post) 2. close/locked topics (sorted by date of last post) It would be a lot easier for most of the members to "notice" the "buried" topics. Note: (MODS can close or delete this suggestion right away if this is non-sense.) God bless us all, Kuya Jie

Nice suggestion. i know what your trying to say ;) hmmm.. this is only my suggetion. i think we must have a different icon in "Sticky" so that member will easily notice the "Sticky Topics" some members don't notice sticky topics because it is written only a word "sticky" they confuse with that. we must separate the "locked icon" and "Sticky icon" ;)
1. active topics (sorted by date of last post)
Impossible because if someone posts... It automatically moves to the top. Including the Sticky Topics. :penguin:

Aside from saying it's impossible rather than saying there is no alternatives! Topic: Kuya Jie I think it would be better if suggest or report that certain active topic to be sticked!

^that's alright, Bro. Thanks.
Impossible because if someone posts... It automatically moves to the top. Including the Sticky Topics.
My point here is if it is possible to bring up active topics over "closed/locked" topics. As you can see now here in the suggestion thread, there are lots of closed topics that are "on top" of the active ones.
Aside from saying it's impossible rather than saying there is no alternatives! Topic: Kuya Jie I think it would be better if suggest or report that certain active topic to be sticked!
Can you provide an idea then? Because I read PunBB forums and I didn't see a function related to that. It is really based on activity... :penguin:
My point here is if it is possible to bring up active topics over "closed/locked" topics. It will be automatically moved depending on the posted date. It automatically moved if the last post has pass its activeness.

However, may I ask you? Did you ever feel the same concern (as me) that those closed topics had been staying on top of the active topics for quite a LONG time now? When will those be moved to the recycle bin to give way to some active topics that were "buried" down? Let us not go far to other sections, just have a look around, here in the Suggestion Section, you will find lot, i mean LOTS of closed/locked topics that are not yet moved to the recycle bin.

 ^ about those locked topics in suggestion section, the reason why these locked topics were not moved to the bin, it's to show that there's already a topic being suggested and was taken action/rejected. ofcourse spam topics are automatically moved to the bin. that's the way how it goes in this section., since there is a significance in every suggested topic, which is locked because it has been noticed, or taken action.

I just want to remind that we are in a forum. How other forums work, is the same here. People visit, login, or browse here to read topics. It depends on them if they want to navigate through the pages or not. If they browse through the other pages, it will be easy to familiarize the forum and absorb lots of information that may help them in their Friendster profiles (which is the main purpose of this forum, that is to give/share info related to Friendster). If they don't browse enough, they may either warned by other members or moderators because they might break some rules, offend other members, or post in an appropriate section, etc. This is the advantage for those who reads a lot. -- I know one member here who really likes to read a lot. Even before, she read in the recycle bin section. Because she reads a lot, she gains more knowledge than other members. When you are going to join a forum, you might need to read a lot. Compared to websites without interactions with their members, you don't have to read lots of replies, comments and discussions in their topics.

I believe that quite a bunch of informative ideas have been shared here. Thanks a lot for those responsible members and MODS who were bothered to share their comments and observations that are factual and senseful. I hope that some of the members learned some useful information from this topic. Once again, my sincere gratitude to everyone. With this regard, I recommend closing this topic to avoid any "would-be" spammers do their acts. God bless us all! Jie
