^the date is too wide. see how it crosses over into the margin of the photo, that's why they cannot be side by side. You can have more room for it you remove the vertical scrolling by changing this:

(the red part) into this:

only thing is you won't be able to scroll. or you can reduce the font size by adding it in the CSS

just edit the 100% to any percent: ex. 90%, 95%, 105%, 110%
