i always experienced this a lot during my hs yrs.
when i get bored i grab a paper and pen then start writing what the teacher says
so it will be like doing both: listening and having fun. 
*i did this when i get bored but have to listen*
sometimes when the lesson is not that hard and im bored, i just scribbles at my paper.

always "may i go out?"
write anything on the paper and pass it around secretly to the whole class and let them write down what's in their mind at that moment..

My suggestion is to sleep but that won't work if you have a small classroom.
Here's what I do:

talk to seatmates
note-passing
text
read something interesting(just have your book as a cover)
play cellphone games

~in our class vve are really really noisy... but even during classes even tough there is a teacher in front..! because of our behaviour our speech subject have a nevv teacher vvhich is our principal....
