ei guyz can u help me....i dont know what happen but my old xp appear to be an immitation...so i bought a new real one xp professional...but the problem is i dont know how to install it in my computer...i also bought an anti-virus and a printer... can u please teach the step how to install all of this properly...tenxz guyz...in advance... :)
here's a simple step you could follow. Turn your PC power on and insert your WinXP installer. Boot from CDROM. You can do this by pressing F8 or F12 (depends on the motherbaord) during POST. Select Boot from CDROM. The windows xp installer will now start. Select where you wan't to install the new windows xp, select the partition/drive if where your old system was installed. then the installer will ask you if you want new installation or repair the current installation. i prefer you choose to repair so that your old programs installed will remain intact. after you choose the repair just follow the instruction about putting in your legitimate product key. after the installation, update your new windows xp thru windows live update. then after you update you can now install your antivirus. after installing your antivirus, install your printer driver(before you install the driver make sure your printer is not connected to computer). if you connected your printer already, turn it off first and wait until the time of installation of the driver will tell you to turn it on. i hope you get this instruction.
